Rose and Jim

We arrived at cruise terminal at 8.30 and went ashore. We were a little intimidated by the number of taxi drivers approaching us and then they were told to go away by officials. It transpired that there is a rule that registered taxi drivers cannot wait in the first square but must wait by the shops beyond. However, non registered drivers were then coming into the square and taking the business.

We walked on towards the shops and saw a lady sitting on a bench holding a sign saying Rose & Jim - we had previously read about them on this site and asked if Rose would take us. We were soon a group of 6 and Rose took us on a fabulous tour for $20. The only extra was $8 to go to Brimstone Hill which we thought was well worth the money.

Rose is from Leeds and has lived in St Kitts with Jim for 26 years. She is extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She took us to the Batic Factory (we thought this would just be another place selling goods but, in fact, it is a beautiful plantation house with lovely grounds). She also took us to Brimstone Hill and the lava rocks where we ate fresh coconut. Rose offered to take us to a beach of our choice but we asked to be dropped in the town as we wanted time to take a look around.

We would highly recommend Rose and Jim and can provide their email address if required.

Rose & Jim are wonderful people! We met them several years ago(6 years I believe). We have used them many times on our visits to St Kitts. We have had them pick us up at the airport & have done tours with them. They have a son who is a Doctor in England.

they are wonderful folks who will do their best to make you happy. I feel like they are part of our family after 2 visits to St Kitts. Will always emal them if we return and they will be waiting no matter what we decide to do. Can't go wrong!
