Interesting. Wonder how the Captain noticed that they lost propulsion,,,if they're at the pier? In any case, I can think of worse places to be if indeed, they do have a propulsion problem.....;p

Hi

I have never been in that sort of situation, but I would imagine if there were mechanical issues that they were working on, you would still be responsible to be on the ship at the scheduled departure time.

I can't see how they would be willing to let you off the ship any more than they would let you off a plane if there were trying to fix a problem.

While Cozumel is nice place to visit, a mechanical issues would still trap you on the ship.

Has anybody been in a similar situation?

It is a tad early to start that. I cannot recall having read of a ship that close stuck. The Dream was stuck once in st maarten but that was at the pier. The first report seemed to indicate it was at the pier. I am sure things are under control and everyone is safe.

Hopefully, they can at least get the boat to port. If I was stranded at sea for days, missing out on ports, I'd be pretty frustrated. I could deal with an overnight Cozumel while they worked things out.

If needed, I am sure there tugs not that far away.

Can OP post the link where they got the info. on this topic.
