Carnival Triumph Fails CDC Inspection

This is pretty gross.

This kind of stuff is what makes people call Carnival "Walmart of the Seas"

While there are some significant problems with the Triumph from reading the CDC report, mainly in dishwasher operation and general crew awareness of USPH requirements, this really does not hold a candle to the upscale Silversea line's Silver Shadow failure about 3 years ago, when it was found that there was an organized attempt to hide 15 carts of potentially hazardous food in areas like crew cabins and passageways, and this was so egregious that the inspector took the, to me, unprecedented step of personally pouring bleach over the food to ensure it was not usable. So, failures like this can happen to any line if things are let go too much.

I did a brief review of the recent CDC scores for this past year for the 3 cruiselines with most ships...Carnival, NCL and RCL

Carnival....24 ships...average score 92.2

NCL..........13 ships...average score 95.5

RCL..........25 ships...average score 96.3

A score of 85 or lower is considered "unsatisfactory"

It was also interesting to note that Carnival did not have any Norovirus breakouts on any of their ships in 2017. Holland America led that category!

Interesting.....
