Reggae Beach

We went and really didn't care for it. It's the type of beach where the chairs are side by side and very close together and lined up. There are 2 rows, so if you are not in the first row, you'll be staring at chairs and an umbrella instead of the water.

There are vendors that bug you while you are trying to relax. One guy came around trying to get us to buy his homemade CD of reggae music that was downloaded from the internet...at least 5 or 6 times. My husband actually told him that he had already asked us so many times so why did it continue to ask and the guy said because sometimes we'll change our mind.

We didn't really find the staff very friendly and never came around asking for drink or food orders. We had to inquire to get our free drink that came with the package.

It just wasn't what I expected and I would rather go to Carambola or Discovery any day. Just my opinion.

Could you move the chairs?

No, there wouldn't be any place to move them to. While it's sorta a decent size long ways, along the beach, it's sorta small the other way and the chairs were so lined up and close together there's really no place to move them to.

Thanks so much for the info. We are booked at Carambola but were considering switching to Reggae. I have never heard of Discovery. Tell me about it please.

Discovery is a secret, we aren't allowed to talk about it or it will be full of cruise passengers,

you will have to stick to Carambola...

In all seriousness, discovery is one of a couple beach shack bar type places along south friars bay, with

Shipwreck beach bar down further.

Carambola is clean and has good facilities but it is not the sort of vibe we are into.

It's located between Carambola and Ship Wreck. There are only 3 places located on that beach. Next time I go, I will probably go to Discovery. We thought it was nice and not busy at all. The black sand was so cool.

Thanks. That tells me a lot. Yes, we probably should stick with Carambola this time as we will have MIL with us and the Carambola vibe is more her style.
