"Dream"ing of a better room...

I'm currently booked on the Dream for Spring Break 2018. Super excited because the Dream has been my Dream since it's unveiling. Tried to do my research to get the best room possible and ended up with room 7347 on the Empress deck! My room is across from the laundry room and near the elevators, which doesn't worry me much. What does worry me is how close we are to the lanai and hot tubs 2 floors below. A quiet smoke free balcony is all I want, not sure if I can expect that in this room. Has anyone stayed in this room or nearby? Should I change rooms? I want this to be the best trip possible, it's for my 10yr anniversary! Thanks everyone!

Are you talking about the ship's laundry room, or the self service laundry? If self service, you might hear some coming and going, but shouldn't be bad. You should hear nothing from the elevators. I always pick a cabin as close to elevators as possible. Never a problem with noise.

I assume you have a balcony. I don't think smoking is permitted at the hot tubs, so smoke shouldn't be problem. Not sure about noise from 2 decks down. I'm sure someone else will know more.

We stayed across from laundry room only 1 time and it was our last. There is constant activity, including lines sometimes, it is very humid and warm due to the dryers.....as far as the hot tubs, it depends on the crowd. When we were on the Breeze they were fairly noisy late at night plus they are 'lit' up.....I would change cabins if you can and move away from both the laundry room and the hot tubs.:(

I advise to stay far away from the laundry room. When we used the ironing board, there were always people waiting to use the iron or machines. Since the room is so small, people often waited, and conversed, at the door. Plus, add the buzzing of the washers and dryers when the cycles end.

I highly recommend Lido deck, starboard side (odd cabin numbers), if you can afford it.

The starboard side of the Lanai below is non-smoking and Lido is high enough so the sounds from the hot tubs is not too bad. Lido cabin is close to the pools and buffet, so it's a quick walk to grab some food to bring back to enjoy on the balcony.

We never heard any noise from Lido. We've sailed in these cabins: Dream 10274, Magic and Breeze 10277, Breeze 10275, and coming up, Dream 10277.

We always choose the cove balconies on the Dream or Breeze. Love the more private balcony. We also usually try to get close to the elevators. There is no smoking allowed on any balcony, so just try not to be above the designated smoking areas. Enjoy your cruise.

I understand your concerns, however we have stayed in that exact cabin on the Dream a couple of years ago and found it to be great.

Close to the center of the ship, only a couple of flights down to the casino or the lanai area, close to the Crimson dining room if you are doing 'your time dining' and should you decide to do some laundry, well your right there to start it and go back across the hall to sit on your balcony while waiting on it to finish.

There is always activity in the halls so might as well be close to the center and easy access to the elevators. The hot tubs are far enough away to have not been a problem for us.

We would book it again without hesitation--enjoy the cruise.

BTW- if you need another ironing board, a quick run down one flight of stairs will get you a room with two boards and no washing machines.

Thanks for the information! It's making lean more towards keeping that room!
