Are the Princess cabins REALLY all sold out?

I am booked for a B1 cabin on July 5th and I've been wait listed for a P category cabin for quite a while. This is an eastbound crossing. There are P cabins available for the extended trip that then goes onto the Fjords. So it would seem that they hold these cabins to book for the larger trip. Does that mean that they will release them for the crossing if not booked? Has anyone had experience getting off the wait list?
