Thanks! Wish there was a translator!😖

No worries. Good to hear where she will be! She might be our 2nd source for a TA end of April 2019. We have our eye on Zaandam too! She might be a TA then. We want to take our Panama Cruise from our home in San Diego to FLL April 3 2019. TA to Europe. So far only Prinsendam 3/25/19.

Will see.

We're hoping that Koningsdam will be sailing the Med in 2019. We did it in May 2017 and want to do it again. Love the ship! Now that Nieuw Statendam and Prinsendam have 2019 itineraries out, hoping Kdam will not be far behind.

In 2019, Holland America Line will bring its newest ship, the New State Dam, to Amsterdam. From Amsterdam, the ship travels to various destinations. In addition, HAL increases capacity for the Netherlands in 2019, with a record number of departures from the ports of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. During the year, no less than 35 cruises are offered on departure from these Dutch ports.

The New Statendam, the latest Holland America Line Pinnacle-class ship, makes a series of 7- to 14-day trips to the Norwegian fjords, Baltic states, Iceland and the Northern Cape. The New State Dam replaces the Koningsdam, which since its inception in 2016 has dumped from Amsterdam in the summer. The Prinsendam, the smallest ship in the fleet, with a capacity of 835 passengers, continues to travel to special destinations and smaller ports.

The flagship of HAL, Rotterdam, departs traditionally from the port city of Rotterdam during the summer. The classic ship brings guests to Iceland, Norway, the United Kingdom and Russia. Every Holland America Line ship has its own ambiance, so guests can always choose a ship that fits with your personal preference.

The main facts for 2019 in a row

35 cruises depart from Amsterdam and Rotterdam, the highest ever and six more than planned for 2018.

The New Statendam offers 15 departures, the Prinsendam 10 departures and the Rotterdam 10 departures.

A capacity of more than 59,000 beds, a record and an increase of 11% compared with 2018 is available.

Fourteen of the cruises offered make a trip to the Norwegian fjords of 7 nights. Ideal for guests who make a cruise for the first time because of the local departure (no flight required) and the offer of one or two seasons, on which one can enjoy all the facilities on board.

New Statendam

The New Statendam is the second Pinnacle-class Holland America Line ship with accommodations for 2,666 guests. The New Statendam will arrive in Amsterdam on May 5, 2019, after its transatlantic crossing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At the end of the Dutch summer season, the ship sails to the Mediterranean, from which it makes cruises to various destinations. Just like the Koningsdam sister ship, the elegant ship offers several innovative concepts, public areas and a wide range of restaurants and entertainment. Including the Music Walk with three different live music locations: Lincoln Center Stage, where chamber music is being audited; Billboard Onboard with hits from present and past; and B.B. King Blues Club Band, with a music program full of soul and funk.

Wonderful news! Thanks for sharing. In June of 2019 we celebrate our 50th anniversary and are planning a family trip. We love Northern Europe and want to share it with children and grandchildren, especially aboard such a lovely new ship. We love Prinsendam, and her itineraries are the best, but didn't think our grandchildren would enjoy it so much as a bigger, newer ship.

I also find it to be positive news... :)

Since I don't know what to do after or Canada/NE cruise in fall 2018, and because I really loved the week in Norway on Koningsdam roughly five weeks ago, that would be an option to sail Norway again in 2019 - on the new Nieuw Statendam. :)

Maybe the Nieuw Statendam will do a re-positioning cruise from Northern Europe to North America? I think I would be interested in a repeat of such an itinerary.

At least she does not in 2019.

When her Northern Europe season is over by mid of September 2019, she sails a Western Europe itinerary finishing in Civitavecchia (Rome), I think.

After that, by late October, she just sails a common Transatlantic from Civitaecchia to Ft. Lauderdale.

And her spring TA is a common one from Ft. Laiderdale to Amsterdam.

So if you mean a "Northern Islands" passage via Iceland and/or Greenland, wait for Zuiderdam - she should be the most likely candidate for such a cruise again.

BTW you can book her 2019 Europe itineraries on the HAL website. Just have a look there. :)

FYI: as from my other post on here today she will be going to Rotterdam 4/31/2019!

It was just posted!

I was hoping she would do a transatlantic to the Med. I was right on the day she would be doing the TA to Rotterdam!

So now my only other alternative that I hope will do TA to The Mediterranean is the Zaandam 4/24/2019. If not Prinsendam 30 day FLL -Rome 3/25/19. We really wanted to do 4/3/19 San Diego - FLL. And do the TA after. If nothing can be changed will cancel our Eurodam trip 3/25/19 Roundtrip from San Diego doing Hawaii and Tahiti!

Sorry for a long note.

Denise:)
