opinion please -ist time to jamaica

I have been reading some threads on Jamaica and of coarse I have heard that there are drugs there and alot of pushy vendors but I was wondering if I should have any concen over the following - It will be our first time in Jamaica this March with NCL my mother in law is also cruising with my husband and I - we are doing the Dunn's river falls and dolphin cove excursion through the ship and she is taking on by herself called the Ocho Rios Spirit. Should I worry that she will be alone (she is a very timid person) or generally are the excursions with the cruise line pretty safe? Thank you for your advice!

If it is with the cruiseline I would not worry. She should just stay with the group at all times.
