Carnival Imagination quiet time.

If we don't get a balcony are there places to sit and relax for lots of quiet time.

We have never sailed Carnival, on other ships I have sailed I don't hesitate to get an ocean view as I know I can find a nice place to relax and not spend the extra on the balcony.

Any help would ease my mind.

I see you have been on the Imagination 4 or 5 times.

Would you be able to tell me specifically where hubby and I could go to view ocean or port. Have a couple relaxing drinks.

Our day at sea is my 50th bday. I am hoping to get in a lot of chill plus drinking time.

I have emersed myself in pictures trying to see. It seems like one of the bars ( maybe called horizons) has a good many tables by the railing.

Would I be able to find any comfy loungers in any out of the way places.

Am I asking for too much? Lol

The cruise line we are accustomed to has become over priced. And I am terrified at the prospect of being on board and being miserable.

For me, it has depended on the cruise. While I have not been on the Imagination, I have been on the Fantasy and Fascination which are sister ships. If you don't mind being in a lounge, generally, you can find a place to relax. We could not however on the Fantasy one March - it was cold and rainy and thus everyone was driven inside. There was no place to go and as a result, it has been our worst cruise so far. We will only sail in a balcony from now on.

If it is sunny and warm, you can always walk the highest decks and usually find space to put a lounger - main lido and serenity decks are always full during prime time. The Alchemy bar is at the back of the ship on Fascination - near comedy club - and there are some nice couches there next to the windows, that are almost never full except perhaps in the evenings.

Both the Inspiration and Imagination have libraries. Just don’t go there during dinner time as people use them as seated waiting areas while other members of their family wait in line to be seated.

Serenity Deck has lounges, chairs and sofas. Up on deck 11 and Lido (deck 10) are quiet areas away from the crowds. Aft of the buffet are small decks behind the pizza and bar.

Inside the library and the Promenade can be quiet as an be the seating area in the Alchemy Bar area.

Need to check out the ship. Some areas we’ve found to be quiet one cruise can be horribly loud the next. The opposite can also be true.

On our last 4day a few weeks ago there were 2 Chef’s Tables held in the Library.

On my cruise from Miami there really is not much than probably serenity adults only area at the aft of the ship and the window chairs by the balcony. If you've been on princess, this ship will feel like a party ship and is filled with tattooed people and disrespectful people and the food will not be on par and the music will be blasting all over the main pool area. Do Princess or Holland America. The ship is dated and it only has basic amenities with Guy's Burger joint.

Sometimes the Serenity area isn't serene at all.

Happy 50th Birthday! As another poster stated, the Serenity Area on this ship tends to be fairly busy. If you get there early, try and get a chair close to one of the outer sides, and you won't have a bunch of people walking around or near you. I have always enjoyed quiet time on Deck 9 along the "Imagination Promenade". It runs from the Casino (mid-ship) all the way back to the Alchemy Bar... the most quiet I've found is outside of the $10 gift shop right before the Alchemy Bar. The seats are very comfy and you get nice views of the ocean. Enjoy :)

We live in Long Beach so have sailed both the Imagination and her sister ship Inspiration numerous times. You need to understand these ships are the oldest in the Carnival fleet, and as such are not a large or have the many spaces the newer ships will have. That said it's been mentioned the promenade inside area has many seating areas one can find quiet space. Outside is more limited as this vessel only has the one main pool area and the rear serenity adult area which can be crowded with adults filling the two hot tubs, lounging and drinking of course. I'm sure you'll be able to find a place but will need to be flexible depending on the time of day.

There are tons of places you can find where it's quiet. I personally enjoy being outside. If you go to the lowest deck (the Main Deck (lobby level) on Conquest ships, you can get outside and there is a covered boardwalk where I have never seen more than five or six people at a time on that whole side of the ship. Sometimes I've been out there at night and the only people there are an occasional crew member. We've also been on the top deck in the late evening, and you'd never know there were 3000+ people below you. On some ships, there is a observatory deck right above the bridge. It's sometimes called a "secret place" because you can often only access it through one of the decks at the front of the ship. (google up "secret places on Carnival ships" or "secret deck on Carnival ships.") If you are ever up REALLY late, you often only see crew members and the hard core casino owls. Other than that, the ship is empty. We've been on a number of cruises, so another trick we do is to stay on the ship when we are in port. Most of the crowds go away. I've sat on the entire Serenity Deck with three other people overlooking the harbor. It was heaven, and one of my fondest memories of cruising. Enjoy.
