medical waiver

Planning an amazon river cruise.......our ages (80 & 71) may not permit getting the yellow fever shots. If we have waivers, will we still be permitted to go ashore/excursions? Our personal cruise consultant checked for us. It seems it is up to the individual ports. Has anyone been denied going ashore because of this? Many ports?

I would be very careful. While you have the waiver it doesn't prevent you from getting yellow fever. So I would consider what excursions you plan to take. I would avoid ones involving jungles, etc and stay close to the port IMHO.

Sorry I can't help you with your specific question.
