Availability of Uber when debarking in San Pedro

5 minute wait for Uber, $35ish to LAX for 2 in 2016.

We had no trouble getting Uber even though it was only to the San Pedro airport. However, we did have a problem with Uber from our hotel to embarkation. He got lost and didn't know how to get there (lol). Took a phone call to Princess to get directions and cost us extra money for the riding around.

I would have objected to paying any extra $$ because the driver had no idea where to go.

We've never used Uber before, so please forgive the dumb question. At San Pedro for instance, with 3000+ people disgorging, there must be quite a few who have called in an Uber ride. How do you identify YOUR specific driver?

Thanks in advance.

Once an Uber (or Lyft) driver accepts your request, the Uber App will show you the car make and model and license plate along with your driver's name and picture. You can also track the driver's location in the App. The driver also has your location. You just need to keep an eye out for your driver...

Download the Uber app to your phone and register with them. When you need a ride, fire up the app on your phone and order the size of ride that you need. The app will tell you the description of the car coming to pick you up with a photo and the license plate number. Your driver will also call you and a map on the Uber app will show you where your ride is and the aprox. time to reach you. Payment is made via the credit card that you have on file.

Very easy!

We always start walking from the terminal toward the exit gates and away from the crowds.

That's great advice! Last time we called for Uber upon disembarkation there were two identical Black Towncars. Our driver started to pickup the wrong group. Once I showed them the app we got the cars sorted out. We unfortunately were waiting at the end of the pick-up point along with the other group.

This is a great response. Thank you for posting, as I had no idea either how uber works. Now I do, and seems easy enough to order an Uber. Again thank you!

2 safety things to remember when taking Uber/Lyft or other types of rides.

1) Check the license plate against the plate the app says is picking you up

2) Ask the driver who they are picking up. And make sure they state your name. Do not say are you picking up "Your Name"? Just ask who are you picking up. If anyone other than you, dont take that ride. Contact the company and go from there

Uber and Lyft should tell you before you get into the car what your cost is going to be. If the driver gets lost there should be no extra charge. Call them for a credit if there was more money than should have been.

I thought there was something in the app itself that also let you ask for credit

Hope that helps...
