Has anyone taken the speedboat excursion to Magellan Island? If so, did you book it independently and what tour company did you use? I'm only finding reviews of cruise line excursions for the speedboat. I'm sailing on the NCL Sun Feb. 3, 2018 and the excursions for Punta Arenas have not been posted yet, so I'm not even sure if NCL offers the speedboat excursion. Any info would be helpful!!

I took this excursion a few months ago via princess. It was great. The best benefit was that the speed allowed us to arrive and finish our tour before the large slow ferry arrived. Thus we avoided the large crowds. The speed boat holds maybe 20 people and takes (memory here) about 30 minutes. We also circled a small island nearby to view other wildlife.

If you visit the falklands too that is also a great experience. It is quite different form Punta Arenas penguins.
