How did you get from the Vancouver cruise port to the airport?

My husband and I have a 3:10 flight home from Vancouver, so not in a rush to get to the airport, but not really time to do much before we leave Vancouver.

What have you used to get from the port to the airport?

Taxi?

Sky Train?

Princess Transfers?

Other?

Being local we're never heading from pier to airport - but every time we go to YVR we take SkyTrain. While you have very little worry about other ships in port with a flight after 3pm, things do get hectic at the pier whenever there are a couple of big ships or 3+ docking. Other than avoiding cruiseline transfers like the plague (as they cost way too much - a cab per person is the same!) any method works for you with that timeframe.

Personally I'd consider trying to squeeze in something downtown - if you sign up for self-disembarkation you can easily be on the street before 8am, and arriving at YVR 2 hours pre-flight for a US-bound departure is usally an hour more than you need. Stash your bags with the bell staff upstairs in the Pan Pacific and you could potentially manage 4 hours of sightseeing - enough to do justice to any one sight, even the most extensive, or a couple of smaller ones. You'd even have time to ride the HOHO on a full double loop - but post-cruise tours will not get you to the airport until about 1:30pm unless you booked a custom one privately.

If you've been here before and just want to get out to YVR as easily as possible, sign up for the last disembarkation group and enjoy a leisurely breakfast onboard. When you get booted off around 9:30am, you would still have time to WALK to the airport in time for your flight so any mode of transport will be fine, even if the cab queue is an hour long...

We will be there two days ahead of time, so will have seen some of the basics. Good tip to drop the bags at the hotel if we want to see another thing or two.

In the past we have used taxis to go to the airport. But last month when we disembarked at Canada Place the line for taxis was very, very long as two ships were disembarking. So we took the Sky Train. Very easy and quick.

Thanks... that is what we are now planning to do,

Sky Train is the best option to go from the cruise terminal to the airport (YVR) from Waterfront station, it is a short walk with no stairs. Waterfront station is the end of the line for three different lines, check for "Canada Line" to YVR . it has dedicated spaces for luggage in each car

Good info,, thanks! We are flying in two days ahead of time, so will be cabbing to the hotel ... it is not close to the Sky train. We will be using the sky train to go from the port to the airport for return flight.
