Uber cost $34 per one way !!! So $60 per return trip is not bad at all.

 

There is no cheap way of doing this. If you rent a car you have to pay $10 parking and extra for transport back to the ship after hours and you lose valuable hours too.

As I said if you have 2 or more it's not a good deal. Pretty simple

Besides transportation problems you experienced. Is there much to see without going into $10 parking lot with your own car? Or inside.

 

You can see some rockets and the red shuttle boosters of the KSC from the road without paying for parking - not worth driving there for that. You can see a few launch pads and assembly buildings in the far distance. That’s it.
