Questions about the GEM

I just booked the 11-night GEM cruise out of NY on October 31st,2017 and I have a few questions:

1) I'm getting mixed answers to this. Does the GEM have a large screen TV on the pool deck that shows movies and sports games?

2) What are some of the current movies being shown on the GEM and where are they shown?

3) How many times do you have to go around the track to equal a mile?

4) Day of departure is Halloween. Anyone know if the GEM celebrates Halloween and how they do it?

5) What are the hours of the Rock Wall?

6) Does the GEM have any stand up comedians?

7) I heard that the old pool slide has been replaced (in 2015). Does the new one work better than the old one?

8) Does the GEM have many classes/seminars?

more to come......thanks

We went last April, so i cant help with currebt movies, though the ones played on board weren't anything recently in the theater. I think it was 8 laps to equal a mile, but my memory is a bit fuzzy. There were a few stand up comedians. The classes I remember being offered were arts and crafts classes and some cooking classes. They did a lot of spa "seminars" aka sales pitches throughout. Movies were shown in the Atrium and sometimes in Spinnaker. Rock wall was open for a few hours here and there throughout the day and depending on wind conditions. Hope that helps a little

Hi there. Last month on the Canada/New England route

Movies: Pixels; Star Wars; Fantastic Beasts; The Wizard of Oz; The Finest Hours; The Fifth Wave; Bridge of Spies; The Walk. Most were in the Atrium except a few which were in the Stardust Theatre and Spinnaker Lounge

Rock Wall: Weather permitting it was open an hour or two here and there and not sure if it was every day. i.e. 9-10 or 10-12 and/or 4-5

Stand up comic : dont recall a stand up comic per se but there was a comedy hynotist show that was really entertaining. Same hypnotist later conducted weight loss and pain management hypnotherapy seminars

Classes/presentations/Seminars : Port, Shopping, Excursion, Future Cruise, Spa, Pain Management (those were typically trying to sell something)

Other classes were arts and crafts, towel folding, napkin folding, various dance classes, family circus workshop, daily fitness classes, casino gaming lessons.

It did seem that there were more than enough activities to keep busy

Hope this helps. Have a great trip!
