Mechman1971 Posted October 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2017 Is this "escape room" the same puzzles on the Getaway as it is on the Escape? We did it on the Getaway last year, and would not want to sign up for it on our Jan Escape cruise if the puzzles were the same. Anyone know? Knowing NCL, I'm pretty sure they would be the same...if anyone wants to PM me so that specific puzzles are not revealed, feel free

Cyclops32 Posted November 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Odds are they may be the same. Without giving anything important away, on the escape you had to find words and you had things like posters to look at, a small hand held maze. Some carnival games and some scarfs. Hopefully that may have told you enough without giving away anything. Using the same props would really limit what they could do. Windsorontario Posted November 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2017 I am looking forward to do it on the Epic in January. I have done 4 different escape rooms in my city and they are awesome!!
TSUmom Posted November 21, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 21, 2017 We plan on trying again on the Getaway - we did not do well at all so even if it is the same as it was on the Escape maybe we can do a bit better. I think alcohol impaired much of our group.

StevenFlyersFan Posted November 22, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 22, 2017 Yes it did.. Odds look good as being the same on both ships Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app It would be hard for it to be the same on just one ship! ;p

rbt001 Posted November 22, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 22, 2017 Uh she DID IT huh, did you stay and watch? ;p I hope she cleaned up after herself! My thoughts for this humorous reply was CLUE. But to be honest, I started with Mrs. Peacock and the rope. Madeline Kahn played a saucy Miss Scarlett, hence the candlestick and our aligned thoughts. jdvmd Posted December 2, 2017 #16 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Can someone explain Escape the Big Top a bit more? Is it like an amazing race? Scavenger hunt?
Rare POA1 Posted December 2, 2017 #17 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Several of the puzzles are configurable, so there can be slight changes. However, once you know the logic, you'll have an advantage.
Mechman1971 Posted December 2, 2017 Author #18 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Its basically a race between 6 to 8 teams of 6 or so people per team, to try and solve a number of different types of puzzles. To help solve puzzles you need to find clues somewhere in the room. It's not really an escape room like you'd get on land where they lock you in the room for an hour. If you like puzzles and clue finding etc...it's worth the hour of time...don't want to give too much away. I wouldn't really call it a kid worthy event though, as I think that the puzzles are a little too difficult for kids...teen's or kids like Young Sheldon may work! :-)

Mechman1971 Posted December 2, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted December 2, 2017 No it's free....not sure if winners get anything...no one figured it out on our cruise. Pretty sure that you'd get a bottle of sparkling wine or something if you did figure it out. Not the easiest puzzles though....we solved about 1/2 of them, and had no clue even how to do the other ones. THey do explain them all at the end, so you can give yourself a face palm, when you hear how they are done..
Cyclops32 Posted December 2, 2017 #21 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Our team was close. Made one mistake that caused us the win. Another team we were playing against won with seconds remaining. Rare debenson0723 Posted December 2, 2017 #22 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Does the winner get anything? Is there a cost? The team I was on won and we each received an NCL reusable water bottle (like you would take to the gym).

missdenise Posted December 3, 2017 #24 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Where do you sign up for it? Box office. I would suggest signing up as soon as you get on the ship, just be prepared there will probably be a line.
