Booking next cruise onboard

My husband and I are thinking of booking our next cruise while onboard the Oasis. What are the current perks of doing so? I always book myself on Royal's website. On our last cruise we received a future credit via the casino that I planned on using for this one coming up but I failed to read the fine print that booking must be done within 30 days of credit certificate issue so we missed up on that deal Is there a better day to do so while on board a 7-day (i.e. day 1, 2, 3 etc). Thank you.

Generally speaking when you book onboard you'll get reduced deposit of $100 and an OBC towards your current or future cruise (the credit depends on type of cabin and length of cruise). When I did it last month on the Jewel for a balcony on a 7 day cruise I'm getting $100US OBC. Also if you book early in the cruise in the first couple of days they will put you in a draw for I think a free cruise or else a massive OBC of like $500US (sorry I can't remember which it is).

I am not sure that it is the same amount on every cruise. I have seen $300

See Bob's post above.

I have only seen $300 as well and on the 5 night OA last month they did not have one. The LA said the 5 night was too short to have a drawing.

Are we able to make an open booking? or do we need to pick a specific cruise?

You can make an open booking, but the OBC is much lower than making a specific booking.

Plus, you can change the specific booking now without losing OBC, so there's little reason to choose an open booking anymore.

Now that I think of it, the open booking may not even be available.

This link will not open for me...Is it still good?

Try this:

EDIT: Well, I fixed the link, but now it points to a post that referenced Photobucket which does not work anymore. Give me a bit to find something that works.

OK, I believe this will show the current terms:

This worked! Thank you so much. In your opinion is this better than the WOW sale for a 5 day cruise? I was going to wait until our January cruise to book another for next October (5 days ut o Galveston 10/19)...but my sister is concerned the ship will sell out. Currently all of the balcony cabins show as sold for 2 travelers. If you book on board will they open up some of the mutli-passenger balconies for booking for 2 passengers?

I'd book now with refundable deposit because lots can change between now and January. If the prices and perks are the same in January, you can cancel and rebook onboard.

If you had a credit from the casino that you missed, I would still call Casino Royale and see what kind of deal they can give you. Often you may still qualify for a casino rate. You should at least check before booking on board. The booking on board staff cannot access casino rates. I have almost always found the casino rates to be less.
