Aix or Saint Remy?

We are looking at excursions while in Marseille. We will be there on a Tuesday in the end of July so shouldn't have to worry about closures. Trying to decide between a bicycle tour of Provence starting in Saint Remy or Aix on our own. Both are excursions offered through Royal Caribbean. Anyone have experience doing either of these?
