Upgrade bid email timing

My family and I are on the Escape on 1/27/18. I have been intrigued recently by the bidding upgrade process (have never done it before or even aware it existed, frankly). When should I expect the email letting me know of the option, if it is available?

Don't just wait for an email-I never got one. Also log into your booking and there will be a message there staying "Let's Get You Upgraded" I had read through these boards that some people don't get emails but get messages directly on NCL and that's what happened for me-and it was exactly 80 days out.

Exactly! I never get an email either, but as suggested if you log in to your NCL account you will see the message there.

Last year, I booked a cruise on the Getaway around 30 days out, paid in full at time of booking for a Balcony. I learned of the bid process about a week later. Put in a bid on a MINI Suite...was accepted less than 7 days before sailing.
