Shuttle from hotel in Rome to port

Does anyone know if there is a shuttle bus from hotels in Rome to Civitavecchia ? I think I read it somewhere on the boards, but neglected to write it down.

Civitatours offers a shuttle but airport and central station only. Not for any hotels.

You can catch a train to Civitavecchia from Roma Termini, Roma St.Piedro, Roma Trastevere. 40 minutes travel time; then walk or taxi . Timetable and purchase tickets direct on line from Trenitalia website .

Thanks for your response. Our hotel offers a transfer service for 180 euros for 4. Before booking it I thought I would look for other possibilities. I'll check out the website.

Hi,

the port is about 1 hour driving from the FCO airport and probably longer from your hotel, so the 180 euros for 4 is not too bad of a price ....... some want a lot more .... but some do the transfer for less.

Back in July we paid 150 euros for a private transfer of 8 of us from FCO to a hotel in Civitavecchia. Same price was quoted if the transfer was from a hotel in Rome to the ship.

Excellent service, english speaking very helpful driver, quick response to any email. No credit card required for booking.

So look at some quotes before you hire someone.

We used a shared service through Rome Cabs Booking (Airport to flat in Rome/to ship/to hotel in Rome/to airport). Very professional, easy to deal with, and choice of pay ahead or Euros the day of.

We also used Rome Cabs from the ship to our airport hotel. Great service.

As stated above you can get a better deal with a private transfer company like RomeCabs. We love RC. Have used it several times.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll add Rome Cabs to my list. I like the idea of paying on the day of the trip instead of charging credit card ahead of time.

If you use RC, don’t wait too long to make your reservation. They will get full fairly quickly, depending on time of year.

I checked Rome Cab's website and it looks good. I like paying the day of instead of in advance. Also looking into using them for a day tour.
