Vancover to Seattle

We've used the princess transfers. Using the transfers makes going over the border fast since passengers go directly from the ship to the bus and the bus is then closed with a seal until the border is crossed. That allows the bus to go into the express area and not have to go through the wait at the border.

That's not true all the time. The only time we did a Princess transfer our bus was not "sealed" for some reason. We had to wait hours in line.

Check out the cost of flying out of Vancouver v trip, hotel and flight out of Seattle.

I was surprised that the cost to LAX was the same. YMMV

(Of course this assumes you only staying the night in Seattle.)

Flights TO the United States will be somewhat higher than flying out of the US.

This is because there's quite a high level of taxation placed on arriving international flights (about $40) by the US Govt, and a slightly higher AIF (about $10) on international departing flights from Canada.

You can also try the "Bolt" bus. The prices start out very cheap and increase as the bus fills. Very nice buses and free wifi. The train is great, but you will not make the morning train and will have to wait for the evening train that leaves after 5:00pm and does not get to Seattle until late evening. Customs tends to be easiest on the train. The cruise line transportation is very convenient, but tends to be expensive.

options include: Amtrak Cascades train, Amtrak Cascades bus, Quick Coach, Bolt Bus, one-way car rental, or fly ( alaska/horizon air).

Be mindful of the arrival/departure locations as it may require a taxi to reach. ie in Seattle you might be dropped off downtown which is about 30 minutes north of the airport.
