Silly soda question

We are currently at the hotel waiting for our cruise tomorrow (Yay!) We bought some canned soda to carry on. The policy says "sealed cans or cartons." Our son wants a soda tonight, does the carton itself need to be unopened?

Each person is allowed to carry on up to 12 cans of unopened soda. So long as you have 12 cans or less of unopened soda, I don't think they'll care if your box is open.

My sister had an open 12pk of diet pepsi which she had no problem. This was 5yrs ago so maybe something changed.

The box can be opened, the cans/cartons with liquid cannot be.

We only take on a few cans for floats. They’re not in a box.

The "sealed cartons" refers to beverages in a carton, such as juice, as opposed to beverages in a can, such as soft drinks.

The soda doesn't even have to be in the carton, just 12 cans. Period.

Or, 11 cans...unopened!

I open the side of the box and fold them in so security can see the can tops without touching them.
