smokeykat Posted August 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2018 We just booked Adventure of the Seas for 2019 a bump out balcony on deck 8. Does anyone have any recent pictures? What are your thoughts on the bump out cabins? Do you hear any traffic from the elevators? Thanks!
Clarea Posted August 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2018 We don't hear any noise from the elevators in those staterooms. Those are very convenient and the center hump location affords an excellent view from the balcony.
cb at sea Posted August 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2018 The elevators and stairs are in a foyer, so noise isn't an issue. The big thing about the "hump" cabins is convenience...they are no larger (either cabin or balcony) than any other side cabin of the same category, but they are so, so convenient! Love that area! Capt Snoopy Posted August 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2018 I was on a hump on the Mariner OTS (sister ship). I was completely happy and zero noise. Great views as well.
dacsmom Posted August 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 20, 2018 I love the hump cabins and will grab one whenever I can.
CCC3 Posted August 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2018 If not booking a JS, we always go for a hump cabin. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Merion_Mom Posted August 20, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 20, 2018 "Everybody" loves them. I'm not a fan, and will swim against the tide here. When I have had a cabin right on the hump, I heard late night talking and laughing a lot. You are in the middle of the path of most people returning to their cabins at night. Many of those people are walking in groups that are enjoying each other's company. Give me an aft cabin any day, where the only people walking past your cabin are people whose cabin is also on the aft.
livylotte Posted August 20, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 20, 2018 Just off Navigator and had a hump stateroom for the first time (only ever had aft staterooms before this). Nothing special about the hump cabins or balcony's. The only good thing they have going for them is their location. Very central and virtually no walking required to Windjammer/pool deck/bars for drinks etc. Re: noise from lifts - there is none. Lifts are in the central lobby and they are a distance away from the cabins. We did have annoying kids running up and down the corridors at night on our recent cruise which was annoying - something we have never experienced in aft cabins. I won't be booking another hump cabin because for us the convenient location does not beat the size of the balcony or the aft view.
smokeykat Posted August 20, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted August 20, 2018 Thanks everyone and love that picture! I think we will like it. We sailed on Anthem deck 10 midship and enjoyed that location. I figured we would try the hump this time as it is midship.
