St. Thomas tours...can I just "wing it" going into port?

Never been to St. Thomas before...we will be there the first week in August. We just found out the island tour we booked said it is not available for our date.

I'm just wondering if you find multiple tour guides when in port? We have had good luck in the past with other ports when we have to just "wing it".

I would at least want to just get a little island tour with photo ops and maybe a view of Meagan's Bay from above?

Any help would greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

The answer to your question is yes, however you never know what kind of guide you will get, so for a first time I prefer someone who guides as their regular activity, as opposed to a taxi driver with a patter. That said, there are some good drivers out there who give great tours.
