"Drinks On Us Card".......Tip ?

Both bartender and server are working a tipped position. The casino pays for the drink (at a steep discount) and a 15% gratuity. The drink menu is severely limited, and higher quality spirits are excluded.

That said, isn't it worth at least a buck for the services of the bartender, bar back, and server to take your order and bring your drink?

There is no mandatory tip when using the Drinks on Us card, as you will receive a zero'd out receipt. From there you have the option to add a tip on the receipt which will go into the tip pool. Or give the server a couple bucks or a couple $1 chips if your on the tables, I've found doing this usually improves the service since they get it right in their pocket.

Limited? Not hardly.

I asked a Carnival casino employee the first time I got a Drink on us card, and was told that they do get an extra, but they were not sure how much. I have since then always added either a dollar or more per drink delivery in the casino, or tipped a dollar cash. I have always had stellar service by the drink waiters in the casino. I have actually always had excellent service from bar staff on Carnival regardless of whether in the casino or elsewhere on the ship, and if I get excellent service from bar staff, in other parts of the ship beside the casino I routinely add a bit extra either on the bill you sign, or a buck in cash. Just my way of doing things on board, and works for me.
