This was posted over on the Carnival board but I have found this to be true on all cruise lines that I have sailed.

I found out about the port stores on my Voyager cruise in January. During the shopping seminar, be prepared to have DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL drummed into your ears about 150+ times. RCCL owns or gets major kickbacks from this store. They are ok stores, but not much different than any at home.

I was told by a jeweler in St Thomas that they had to pay $25,000 to the cruise line for the advertisment.
