Having yet to go on our first p&o cruise ( Baltic, may 2019 ) i am now in the process of planning my wife's 60th which she has decided will be a caribbean cruise jan/feb 2020, my question having looked at quite a few cruises for 14nights and noticed most have 9 ports to stop at is what ports must be seen and which are not as appealing.

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

It is all a case of personal perference I love Antigua St Maarten Bonaire

As has been said it's down to individual preference. Personally I dislike the ones in the Western Caribbean which have been too americanised for my taste. I love a beach with great scenery so prefer the more naturally beautiful islands in the East which sounds like the opposite to Mr Blue Sky. My favourites are Antigua, Tortola and St Lucia which I'd say are the unmissables. I also love Dominica - get up into the mountains, Guadeloupe (Death In Paradise Locations) , St Barth's though not many ships go there, St Kitts and Barbados. My least favourites are Jamaica, Aruba and St Maarten

Mt ideal 9 island cruise would be (in no particular order of of preference.)

Barbados, Grenada, curacao, Bonaire, Antigua, Tortola, St Kitts,St Maarten,St Vincent.

St Maarten is only included to visit St Barths and St Vincent is included only to visit Bequia or Mustique, St Vincent for itself I would not include.

What would I do ( assuming I could afford all the excursions)

Barbados - Car Hire and drive to East Coast for the day, finishing up at the Oistins Fish Fry

Grenada - Lobster lunch excursion to Hog Island

Curacao - visit Cas Abao beach

Bonaire - go Diving

Antigua - Circumnavigation Boat trip

Tortola - Visit Jost Van Dyke

St Kitts - visit Nevis

St Maarten - Ferry to St Barths

St Vincent - Boat trip to Bequia
