Beaches close by

There are three cruise ship piers on Cozumel, so we would need to know what ship and what date to figure out where you will be ported.

Most of the popular beach clubs require a taxi ride -- fares (good for up to 4 in the taxi, so pair up with others from your roll call ;) ) range from about $11 (Chankanaab, Money Bar) to about $16-17 (Paradise Beach, Playa Mia, Mr. Sanchos, etc.) to about $25 (Playa Palancar).

Good luck with your planning! :)

Is there anyway to find out where a particular ship will dock ahead of time?

I was on the Freedom in Dec 2017, you will dock at the International pier. I recommend Paradise Beach Club, nice beach, great pool and clean facilities. Just bring water shoes because there are some some rocks as you enter the water. Cab fare was 14.00 each way. Admission to PB is 3.00 each and if you want to play on the water floats another 10.00. :)

We are older couple & just want to relax & snorkel. Do you think Chakanaab or Paradise Beach would be better?

Chankanaab is $21. Has been for several years.

There is a $2. coupon to download/print if you like.

Chank offers a small beach area and a separate snorkel area with some submerged statues, etc. should be perfect for what you want. Admission is about $20/adult and a taxi will be about $11 each way.

Paradise Beach is larger and admission is only $3 each, but the taxi will cost you about $17 each way (fare covers up to 4 in the taxi, so pair up with others from your roll call to save $$ ;) ) Okay beach and a HUGE pool plus great facilities - but no where to snorkel unless you like looking at sand :(

Your call - have a great cruise :D

About 3 yrs ago we went to Palancar Beach, further south. We did not snorkel but there were some locals that took people out to the Palancar Reef from the beach. Easy to get a taxi to/from. You may want to search these posts more to see if that is still available. We will be in Cozumel again this Feb. Considering go there again. Very quiet beech with food and drink available. Have a great time!

Thanks. Do you know if there are any beach bars walking distance. Definitely not Senor Frogs type

NCL generally (not always) docks downtown.

There are plenty of bars, some with ocean view, but no bars with sandy beaches.

Depends what you are looking for and how far you are prepared to walk? Otherwise it is a taxi ride to one of the southern beach bars.
