Any suggestions for hotels in Venice? Booking for pre-cruise hotels already closed thru RCCL for 9/27 Splendour sailing.

This is the link to the search here on CC.............enjoy :)

My wife & I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Bologna, Mestre, VE, Italy for 3 Nights in November 2012...

Booked a Double Look Room (WiFi & Breakfast Buffet) at $115 a night. We enjoyed our stay...

It is right accross the street from the Train into Venice.

While I have never flown in the day before a cruise and stayed at an hotel, and always made the ship, even with Euro cruises...

You only live once!

Venice = Gritti Palace Hotel, five stars and $$$$!

You're spending enough on the cruise and airfare, so try out what the best Italy has to offer!

And loved it!!! Now returning in October and Dh and I will stay there. Staff were excellent, rooms super clean, very beautiful garden area to sit outside and a very delicious breakfast as well !! Right around the corner is a very good gelato place - we took back and ate it in the garden each night.

It depends on budget and whether you want to be close to the terminal.

If you want to be close; Hotel Olympia, Hotel Santa Chiara, Hotel Abbazia, for budget Al Malcanton.

For really nice hotels but further away from the terminal so you will require transport to get there: Hotel American Dinesen, Hotel Columbina, Danielli, in fact loads of them if transfer to the port by water taxi is not an issue.
