Carnival Imagination Handicapped Room M298

Hi all

Will be sailing on the Carnival Imagination 11/8/2015 with my husband and twin boys. We are celebrating because it's they're birthday and I am going to have lung transplant surgery in 2016. :)

I've confirmed the handicapped room M298 on that sailing. However, I've heard that there was a lot of noise around it and can't seem to find any photos of the space.

This is my first cruise with children also so any tips, tricks & hints would be appreciated.

Many thanks!

I think your fine at M298... Cabins below and above you.

Maybe minor noise from elevators but I doubt it

It's awkward to find. It's across from M190.

Looks like crew stairs and storage, possibly an ice maker.

ETA-- just discovered that I can open and store the deck plan (PDF) from carnival.com onto my iBooks app.

Thanks for the help!

The November 8th Imagination cruise is a 4day so I thought it would be a bit more tame (if that's possible). I used to do this run in the 90's in my single days so I get the party atmosphere.

I was more concerned about the room itself. :D

I saw pictures of R298 on cruisedeckplans.com which is a paid site but cheap & worth the cost in my opinion. The space around that cabin appears to be crew work area but I doubt there would be much noise. That site I mentioned usually states if there is noise issues, obstructions or something negative about a particular room/location and nothing was mentioned at all. Nice handicapped inside cabin with big h/c bathroom. As other poster mentioned, cabins above & below you and the only thing around you on either side would be crew working area. If there was a lot of noise from crew here, it would have said so. The opposite side is the crew entry door and it did say there could be noise early morning from crew coming in & out of that door but that is the opposite side (I think you are port side and this is starboard). You could always do a google search for "cabin M298" to see what you find. Remember, there are several fantasy class ships so it would be very similar to a sister ship picture you may find on mr google.

I stayed in M298 last week on the 4 day cruise.. Its an okay cabin, but it'd be a tight for 4 people.. I was planning to take pictures of the cabin, but I lost track and I had to deal with a broken down power wheelchair in the cabin and having a second chair in the cabin..

Resurrecting an old thread. Found it this evening in a Google search. I will be staying in the Imagination M298 and had a few questions about the beds and moving around the room in general. I would like to know how are the upper beds? They look to be right in the face of the one in the single bed like a bunk bed would be or are they spread out in the room.

Second if someone can confirm that there are to single beds and not 1 large bed. I would really appreciate the extra assurance that is the case.

Lastly for anyone in a wheelchair how is it moving around the room with people with a manual wheelchair and no powerchair? I am in a wheelchair and will be traveling with my parents.

Any help in getting my questions answered would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Carnival doesn't have big beds. Larger beds are simply two lowers stuck together. Keep the lowers apart for more moving around room.

Look at post 16.

On the Inspiration but they have the same deck plan. Many of the public bathrooms now have buttons for the doors. The small one behind the disco does not, it's too puny.

Are you doing the four day? Carnival is now using the old Catalina Ferries. Completely roll on-roll off. Was behind a power chair getting back onto the ship.

Wow! Thank you very much for finding this thread and mentioning the specific post. I really appreciate it.

We are going on the 4 day cruise. We were a little hesitant at first to book because we knew that Catalina was a tender port but the specialist on the phone mentioned they got it figured out as far as accessibility. Looking forward to it!

We just booked the cabin M298 for Valentines Day can you tell me was the room bigger the the other interiors I make hae Knee operation before the cruise. Thanks Gail

It looks like it is the same size on the deck plans as are other interior cabins. However, the accessible cabins tend to have larger bathrooms and wider doors, so the main space in the cabin is smaller, and there is less storage available and often the loss of a chair, although there should still be a stool at the desk.
