Do they scan your bags before you get on the ship? and If I'm bringing just a carry on do I have to carry it on the ship or can I check that at the port?

All bags are scanned on their way to the ship.

You can either check your carry on or bring it with you. Note that you should not check it with valuables, necessary medication, boarding documents, etc.

If you want to check your carry-on at the port it is fine ...make sure you do not leave valuables or meds in the checked bags ..they can still go astray ;)

If you carry on your bag, it has to fit through a typical airport style/size x-ray and if you check your bag, it will be x-rayed.

Good advice about keeping medications and valuables with you.

Make sure your meds, passport, tickets are on you and not in that bag!

As our cruises we are taking are in the middle of longer travels we will have our notebook computers with us. I assume we just carry them as well as our carry on.

Also we will have a large suitcase each. So we will have pretty much what you would check in and carry on a flight.

You can keep your and should keep your laptops with you along with your carry-on luggage. Also keep cameras with you.

Large suitcases do need to be checked with the porters.

As mentioned all bags are scanned.

If your carry on contains any valuables including electronic or breakables do not check it in, but continue to carry it with you.
