Wine - in carry on or luggage?

Does it matter? Can it be brought on in. Carry on or do we have to put it in a checked bag?

I look at it this way.

They tell you to put it in your carry on and that's OK if your taking on just 2 bottles but if you're taking 2 additional bottles I split mine - 2 in carry on and 2 in checked.

They might just overlook the ones in the checked luggage & you're ahead by $30. :D

Carry on only. If you put it in your checked luggage it may get confiscated, or even worse you will get called down to the naughty room.

Never will they confiscate you wine. The worst that will happen is charge you $15 per bottle.

Where is the "naughty room"? I'd like to visit it some time.
