Can not check in at Ft Lauderdale airport until 4 hours before flight

No, it is an airport restriction not an airline one.

 

The airport can't handle the massive amounts of luggage.

We're planning on using the luggage valet service. You can tell we're not frequent flyers lol. Guess we'll just wait and see what happens. thanks

This past weekend, we arrived at FLL about six hours prior to our flight and found it it was delayed an additional four hours. When the clock ticked over to the four hour point ahead of our original departure time, the airline allowed us to check our luggage even though we were still eight hours from departure (talk about a long, crummy day in an airport that we were not expecting :( ).
