Hello, I’ve just booked the above cruise for end of a March. My wife and I are looking forward to dressing up “formal night” in Tux / Long Dress, however will be look overdressed on this cruise?

Second question, we would prefer the later dining option of 8:30pm however most of the shows run at the same time! How do we get around this? Suggestions please [emoji6]

They will also have early shows, same shows............you won't miss anything. Just remember most of ther shows you have to book beforehand, so be sure to use your cruiseplanner option thing online whne reserving times.

You can do all this before you board the ship

My opinion here is you can never be overdressed. Let me explain what I mean here:

It's fun to be festive & celebrate good times. I have found that other guests enjoy seeing the pageantry too. do what makes you feel happy and others will feel happy too.

Hello everyone and Good Morning. Welcome to DAY 8 of “LIVE”from Anthem of the Seas. Well, it’s here . . . the day no one wants to talk about. This is our final sea day. I have hours left on board. There is still so much to do. I may not get everything done that I wanted to do or try, but that is a good enough reason for me to sail on this beautiful ship once again. Of course I can think of a lot of reasons why I should book again.

The activities started at 8AM this morning. FlowRider, Ripcord by iFly and Roller Skating started early. Casino Royale, and all of the Shops opened for everyone who needs to make a purchase. Spa Treatments, NorthStar and Bingo are attracting a lot of passengers. There is a tremendous amount of activity today on board . . .Or if you like, you can do nothing . . .Absolutely nothing.

The seas are very calm today . . . it may be the most calm of this trip. It seems like we might be sailing in a pond. The winds are very light and the temps are 52F. The forecast calls for much of the same with no rain. It is much nicer to be out on the decks without the high winds like the last two days.

Here are a few pics from this morning. . . Thanks for tuning in.

Another awesome review Radio! Thanks for taking the time to do this. We are sailing on Anthem the end of March. I have a question about check-in. I read that you do not receive the sea passes at the pier; they are available in the state room with one in an envelop on the cabin door. If this is true, can we use the set sail pass for the any purchases (drinks packages, etc.) before we can get access to the cabins?

Yes. Your SetSail Pass will print out with a bar code on it. The staff will scan that barcode for any purchases that you make before you get your SeaPass cards and it will go directly onto your SeaPass account. :)

Interesting....so do all ships do this? What about the bracelets? Is that just for muster station or do you use the bracelets for purchases also? In my past experience, they give you the sea pass card in the terminal but now one is in an envelope on the door? We are on Allure in October....

The newest ships do. They are more technologically advanced. Your SeaPass card has an RFID chip in it, not a magnetic strip

These are the same ships that have WOW bands.

Allure is not included. It's Quantum and since. So: Quantum, Anthem, Ovation, Harmony and Symphony.

The wow band does everything a SeaPass card does except ding you on and off the ship. You still need your card for that.

Hello everyone . . . Today was a great day at sea. It may have been the best day at sea for this cruise. The biggest factor was low winds and very calm seas. All passengers were busy with activities, though it may have been one of the quietest days as well. With over 100 Jr. Cruisers, it has been a little noisy in many areas.

I was able to make it to the “Lunch with an Officer” event for Diamond Plus members (over 340 points). Lunch was held in American Icon Dining Room. Right after lunch I also attended the “Captains Corner” in TWO70 Lounge. The Captain, Cruise Director, Chief Engineer, and Environmental Officer answered passenger question for about an hour.

Later in the afternoon I went to a Bridge Tour which isalways very informative. The tour lasted about 30 minutes and we were giveninfo on the Bridge staffing, Bridge Wing, Radar, and GPS as well as theEmergency Management Room that covers all Non Navigational emergencies that couldhappen (weather, fire, power and safety)

I met with several Cruise Critic friends in the Diamond Lounge for a farewell and a beverage. It was very nice to enjoy this cruisewith some good friends, and I met some new ones as well. We laughed every day and had lots of fun. I still have time to hit Casino Royale and maybe consumeone more coffee for this day.

We are scheduled to arrive at Cape Liberty at 6AM, and the Captain suggested that we should pick up the pilot by 5:30AM. I have been told that all passengers must complete debarkation by 9AM . . . Yikes!

Here are a few pics from today. . . Thanks for tuning in.

Enjoy your dressing up! Wear what makes you happy. I agree with joaniet. People find pleasure in viewing the pageantry, including people who do not participate. We debarked on January 19. There were many men wearing suits and sports jackets. There were some who wore Tuxedos. When we had dinner in American Icon there were more men wearing jackets than in shirtsleeves.

Enjoyed your reports and photos, I would to add a comment about hats in the MDR. In WWII the Mess Hall on ships were used for the over flow of wounded soldiers, hence crew members arriving for meals would take off their hats to honor their wounded comrades.

I don’t think hats should be allowed in the MDR’s. Just remove as a sign of respect!

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Radio on this cruise, along with several other CC members. 9 nights of a lot of laughs in the Diamond Lounge, and several fun dinners together, I’ve found some amazing new friends! Thanks for the memories [emoji2] Looking forward to sailing with you all again! c9c37f9f3a06b59aabaa4f9a229f0699.jpg
