never been before and wondering what is there to do around the port area.

I have an excursion booked earlier that day till about half 5.

Our ship leaves at half 9 any ideas

You have a few challenges such as your arrival terminal? Unless at terminal 1 you need transportation everywhere. From T1 you can walk to the Cove but there you will find only restaurants.

You can Uber to Florida Beer Company if you like craft beers or do happy hour somewhere but what r your interests? The Canaveral area is mostly an outdoorsy area and when the sun sets the options are limited especially since you have only 3 hours.

Looks like I will go back to the ship, thought maybe there would be shops, pubs within 10 minutes walk away.

If you are at terminal 1 then yes, you can walk to several bars/restaurants and a small shop or two catering mostly to fishermen.

The famous Grills, Fishlips, etc
