SarahD112 Posted January 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2018 First, is it open post-Irma? I’ve been to the website but it doesn’t address the Zipline specifically, that I saw. Second, is it safe? I watched a few go pro type videos online and it seems people are unclipping themselves off the zips to the platforms? There weren’t guides at every zip end. Not sure that’s safe for adults, much less kids. It’s pretty high up! But the videos are cut together so maybe I can’t see whole picture? And lastly, I usually like to book independently but it looks like not recommended here. Transportation aside, the FAQ says no reservations and recommends afternoons as mornings are busy cruise groups. Can anyone speak to that? I don’t want to show up to be told it’ll be a few hours wait. [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
dubldeck Posted January 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2018 I did this a few years back and it was awesome. Totally safe, never felt unsafe. If my memory serves me correctly, they have two or three guides with your group. You are responsible for clipping and unclipping yourself, but they go over how to do it and be safe doing it. You have two safety clips and one is always clipped on to something before undoing the other. This was my favorite excursion on my trip. Have fun and enjoy the views!!! Powersboyee2 Posted February 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Add me to the list of wanting to know if they are up and running!! Will be stopping there in April. I’ve also done the extreme tour several times. The best zip lining around the world are at places that you get to do it yourself as you do here IMO. The extreme tour is just better higher longer etc. There are plenty of cool obstacle type challenges, platforms, and ladders etc that you will need to be able to navigate on your own as well. michaelsop Posted February 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We saw it this week from a distance, couldn’t tell if it was open and running or not sorry, but a few in our group did say “no f’ing way” lol.
