Boarding NCL Dawn Questions

I was just notified that my bid for going from a mini suite to a Family Suite with Balcony (SD) was accepted for our Dawn cruise this Friday.

I believe we have Butler and Concierge services now but would like someone to confirm that please. (I loved both services when on the BA in the Haven! :D)

So now on the smaller ship (and without a Haven) I am looking to confirm what options are now available to us.

> Will we be able to use the 'suites' waiting area in Boston? (If there is one?)

> Will we be able to be escorted on board early by the butler?

> Are we allowed to have breakfast and / or lunch in the "suites" restaurant?

> Will we be able to have the Concierge get us in to a Specialty Dining venue at a more desirable time?

Anything else someone has to share about the Family Suite and any amenities would be terrific.

Thanks in advance! :D

I am not telling my grandsons and son that we will now have plenty of room for the 4 of us. I hope they love the surprise!

Congratulations on your upgrade!

Yes, you will have Butler and concierge.

Yes, there is a Suites waiting area in Boston terminal.

You "should" be escorted onboard to either Cagney's or Moderno for your "Suite's Lunch"

Yes, you may request the concierge change your reservation(s)... the possibility does exist that you want time(s) that are already fully booked. (for best results, request ASAP!)

Family Suites King bed is one whole unit (cannot separate). The sofa and a murphy bed should be good for your son and grandsons! Hopefully, you'll enjoy some pleasant days on your balcony!

There is no "Haven-like area, as I'm sure you know, but it still is a great ship. Have a great trip!!!

Answers above. The real issue with the specialty restaurants is that they may not have room and thus the butler can't do anything.

The Suites area is not particularly fancy (just a curtained off area with a table with refreshments). They're very efficient -- I've never actually spent any time there. Usually when we arrive they are about to escort a group onto the ship and so we arrive and are quickly on our way. The last two times we were given a form requesting our requests for specialty dining, but I had already made our reservations so I don't know how responsive they are to that form. In the past the concierge could always get a table within a half hour of our requested time, even at fairly short notice, but my sister told me that that was not the case on her last cruise. It could be that the dining plan offer has increased the demand to the point that there really isn't much the concierge can do (or maybe we just previously lucked out with prior concierges!)

I've never gotten escorted to Cagneys - usually we just make our way to the room, put down our bags, admire the view, set up the safe, sometimes meet the butler, then walk over ourselves. (it's on floor 13, I believe, but midships -- you can only get there through the midships elevator)

Have a wonderful time!
