Replenishment is daily for DV and above. V cabins don't get replenished (once you empty the drawer, you have to pay for replenishments) and any cabin can pay for additional items that are not included in their complimentary sort (like wine, nips or beer in a DV cabin).

The basic fill is this:

  • 2 candy bars and a bag of chips (the chips are not in the fridge; look for them by the coffee maker)
  • 6 cans of soda (Sprite, Coke, Diet Coke; but you may request a different sort , like all of just one flavor)
  • 2 bottles of Schweppes tonic

Someone else will have to fill in the alcoholic details for PV and above.

My understanding with PV and above is that you can request something different from what comes standard with the room. For example, you could ask for 2 Beefeaters and no Dewar’s, something like that. Unfortunately I doubt they have mini-bottles of Highland Park 18-year ...

Yes, we were in a PV on the Star recently, and were able to request preferred non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. I "think" the original mix of provided liquor mini's was vodka, gin, scotch and bourbon. We asked for all vodka, and they happily complied. Also, we swapped out the welcome bottle of champagne for white wine. Just leave a note near the cooler. They restock each morning.

And, on the Star, they were putting the potato chips in the cooler with the chocolates... so watch for them in the cooler as well as near the coffee maker.

Just remember Gordons gin and Jack Daniels, a vodka and one other (whiskey?) in our PV. Again you can change generics like gin into all vodka or whatever, but I don't know if can ask for a mini-bottle of a specific brand of for example gin, say Bombay Sapphire.

But if you bring your own bottles (nonalcoholic and alcoholic), will Viking leave them wherever you put them?

Yes

Viking has NO issue with your own liquor. They'll even hold & serve you YOUR wine at dinner if asked.

I suggest speaking to your room steward(s) if you have special preferences. They'll do as you wish.

For the hard liquor, I believe Viking Oceans ships vary their offerings in the minibars. On our cruise last fall on the Viking Sea, we were stocked with Bacardi Rum, Beefeaters gin, Smirnoff Vodka and Dewars scotch.

Well, you can forget about the chips. They are now subbing mix nuts instead of the chips . I liked the chips better, but who am I ? If you need a chip fix, go buy a can of Pringles ! in the ship’s store .

We don't drink soda or alcohol but we love skim milk and bottled water! Do you think they would stock us with skim milk instead of the typical drinks they leave?

This will be our first Viking and we are very excited. The thought of adults only and no casino sounds like a relaxing mix for us.

I've heard that the spa and infinity pools are 70 degrees...is this correct? That seems very cold.

I do not think that you can get milk for your minibar (at least not from the person who restocks it). Bottled water is available as you leave the ship each day; take what you want. In the cabins, water is supplied in a carafe, refreshed twice daily, still and/or sparkling. You can ask for multiple carafes.
