Please pardon my typo in the title. Not sure how to edit the title. At any rate...

We are looking forward to an upcoming cruise and always anticipate some pre or post dinner play at the slots. I know the odds so don't need a lesson there, but was wondering if anyone has had some luck on a slot machine. If so, what was the game and what ship?

Thank you!

Christina

I won $1440 on a 50 cent slot machine. Mine was on the Mercury. On our last cruise I saw a lady hit around $3000 and she said the day before she hit $5000 on the slot machines. Hers was on Reflection 1st cruise after the TA last November.

Not sure what ship you are on but on our Dec. Equinox cruise, we had decent luck on quarter slots (Double Diamond), as well as video poker. We were able to convert OBC into about $400 of accumulated winnings for the week; nothing huge but some decent payouts that added up.

I was totally disappointed with table play; minimums were way too high. For the entire week the BJ minimum was $15 per hand and 3 card poker was a $20 bet; another $10 to play the hand. I didn't play much but managed to draw 3 of a kind that paid very nicely. Good luck!

DH won $1300 on a video poker machine a few years ago. He would have won more but he hadn't bet the full amount for that hand. He had spent about $2.00 before he won. I was upstairs in the cabin reading (it was late at night) and he came right back and tossed 13 hundred dollar bills on the bed with a big smile.

I won $400 on a penny slot on the last night of our Reflection cruise last November. My big win was on Royal Princess. I won $2800 on a progressive penny slot machine at 10:45 on the last night of that cruise. That's my all time big win. The cruise line slots are pretty tight compared to our state casinos, but every once in awhile there a good win.

My DH won a progressive on HAL once and we've done pretty well on Princess and Celebrity before on video poker and other slot machines. Of course, we've left more in the machines than we've taken out but it is what we consider the cost of our entertainment that we enjoy.

On Celebrity, I've been lucky enough to twice to win the raffle to enter a tournament with the officers. The first one was a slot tournament and I and the officer I was teamed up with, won first place. The other one, I was paired up with an officer for a blackjack tournament ... of course, I didn't win a thing but had an absolute blast at that table. I consider that winning!!

On Splendour of the Seas in 2014 I was up about $700 at blackjack. Then a new dealer took over with a new box and I was quickly even. My gambling friends back home just laughed and told me if the dealer changes and you are up run away as fast as you can. But later that curise I found a friendly Cleopatra machine tucked away in a corner. Finished about $500 up for the trip.

I think we were on the Silo a few years back and I told DH I was going to head down to the shops and maybe swing by the casino.

I decided to play the penny slots with a twenty and kept getting free spins upon free spins. About an hour later landed with plus $245. I was thrilled. So was DH.

Thanks to all the responses. So happy for all of you who had good luck. I'm usually down by the end of the cruise but I go in with a budget I can stand to lose and hope for the best. Your stories have gotten me even more excited to try my luck in the Equinox casino! Cheers everyone and may the luck continue!

Machines on the ship are very tight. But agree it's entertainment. I have 3 sayings going through my head as I am losing money in the casino:

Winners know how to lose...don't get discouraged

The less you bet the more you lose when you win...play big!

You are only one spin away from getting it all back...don't get discouraged

Of course this doesn't work or I would be rich. But I have had a lot of fun. Most of the time it's not about winning. It's about being able to maintain and having a good time

Sailed on Reflection last summer with a large group and many of us were frequent visitors to the casino. One night they had a promotional raffle for $500 in casino credit and I was one of the 10 chosen at random to participate. We each received a key to a small, locked suitcase that contained the credit voucher. While I was waiting for the key trying ceremony I was informed that a sweet lady in her 80s from our group had won 2 $1000 slot jackpots in the last 2 days. I sought her out and she rubbed my key for good luck just before the ceremony. You guessed it, mine was the lucky key!! Turned the $500 to $1000 on the blackjack table later. I referred to our fellow traveler as "Lady Luck " for the rest of the cruise...
