Carnival Freedom and Unlimited Cheers!

Recommended Posts

I'm really excited about going on my first cruise. I'm actually excited about trying the Alchemy Bar because the menu looks awesome and the Red Frog Pub because Carnival brewed some of the beers they offer. I am also eager to hit Scott's Piano Bar.

My problem is, is that the Freedom is sailing out of Galveston and they said I'm not allowed to use the Unlimited Cheers drink package until day 2 and they are not charging me for the day I'm not allowed to have it. So if embarkation day is on a Saturday with the ship scheduled to leave at 6pm, does this mean I can use Unlimited Cheerson Sunday Morning? Or do I have to wait until Monday?

Also does the Alchemy Bar and the Red Frog Pub activate and accept the Unlimited Cheers package? ☹️

Cheers is honored at all venues on board the ship.

You will be able to begin using your Cheers package at 6am Sunday (a "Cheers day" runs 6am to 6am). You will have to pay ala carte for all drinks on the first day (embarkation day) out of Galveston.

You will not be allowed to start using Cheers until 6 AM on Sunday morning. You activate your Cheers package at either the Atrium bar (lobby bar deck 3) or the casino bar (deck 5 mid), but once activated, it's honored at every bar. You will be cut off at 15 alcoholic drinks, but bottled water, energy drinks, milkshakes, etc are unlimited. I would HIGHLY suggest that on your next cruise, you go out of NOLA. The Cheers program is available to use upon boarding. Galveston is our closest port, but because of the Cheers rule and ridiculous liquor tax on anything you buy in port, we won't be sailing out of there again.

BTW, if you have Anna, Inga, and Zsolt as your bar staff at Alchemy like we did on the Freedom in February, you're in for a real treat. :) Have a great cruise!
