NCL Sun - open bar service and entertainment questions.

Recommended Posts

We gave our daughter and future son-in-law the June 4th sailing on the NCL Sun from Port Canaveral to Cuba. They are getting married June 3rd - the date, destination and embarkation port worked for them. We booked a deck 8 balcony, pre-paid the gratuities, included the picture and internet offers.

HOW IS THE DRINK SERVICE ON THESE "OPEN BAR" SAILINGS? Good service? Lines?

WHAT ENTERTAINMENT IS OFFERED ON THE SUN? Is there a production show or two? Live bands? Dancing? Karaoke? Comedians?

I appreciate any feedback and / or suggestions.

You can order any drinks at all bar. Call liquor. A lot of people start at the top of the bar menu and work their way down. Or order those drinks that you wanted to try, but never would pay real money for. If you order "top shelf" liquor, you would pay an upcharge.

Shows in the main theater every night. Live Bands. Dancing everywhere. Karaoke.

It will be a wonderful honeymoon. Consider getting them a dining package,,, even if they don't use all of them. A romatic diner at the Le Bistro french restaurant or Cagney's steak house.

Don't forget the Cuba visa!

Instead of the dining package, you might want to look at one of the romance packages - some include dinner in Le Bistro and "breakfast in bed" (really just room service). With the late Key West arrival and the balcony, breakfast could be really nice! With the Key West late departure (8:00 PM) and overnight in Havana, having one specialty dinner might be better than trying to fit in three with the SDP.

Thank you so much for the answers you shared! I might suggest that she put the dining package on her gift registry. (Our pockets are feeling pretty empty!)

In addition to the Stardust Theatre (decks 6&7) there is Dazzles on deck 6 - dancing live music bands entertainment.

On deck 13 the Observation Lounge has light entertainment contemporary fare.

Plenty to do although on shorter cruises (3-4 days) the show productions may not be the same as

week long cruises.
