Help me Sell my DH on an Aft Extended Balcony -Empress deck 7 -Breeze

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some input on Aft. Extended Balcony rooms.

I am looking some pro's and cons of these rooms to convince DH to upgrade :D.

Currently booked in a Deluxe Ocean view room on the Breeze...

~interested in 7462 or 7463 Aft Ext. balcony rooms

The only reason we haven't booked a Balcony room is that the standard balcony is just too small for us to enjoy..if I have a balcony I want to be able to lay in the sun and enjoy it!

Cove Balconies dont get enough sun so that option is out as well.

Any thoughts would be great..THANKS so much :)

Not a fan of the aft extended balconies. Had two, won't do them anymore.

Too hot back there, due to a total lack of breeze.

Far less "privacy" in comparison to other balconies.

Serious vibration when the maneuvering thrusters are engaged.

Nope, not for us. We'll take the L-shaped cabins with the longer "bowling alley" balconies from now on.

I have a fear of heights so a regular balcony will not work for us. Had a minor panic attack on a friend's 9 floor regular balcony once. At least with the Conquest class, you have the wedding cake tiered layout. If you have a fear of falling, realistically, you'll just fall about 8 feet into a neighbor's cabin. You won't fall off the ship.

It's the best for the half of the time your cabin is in the sun. You can tan and then retreat to your cabin in seconds, which for me is a huge plus since I burn easily.

To convince a husband, tell he he will be two floors under pizza and a bar. Great to grab a bucket of beer and retreat back to your cabin.

You will have virtually NO foot traffic back there, which is a plus as if you are mid ship, you may hear people walking around constantly.

If you smoke/don't smoke, you'll be happy either way.

Hope this helps.

The balcony isn't wider but deeper. On the Splendor the aft balcony was deep enough for two loungers.

is this true?

I had aft balconies before and I never could get one lounger out there let alone two.

are these aft balconies bigger then other class ships?

they are the regular aft balconies-- not the wrap around ones.

I was an aft snob til they change the pricing-- can no longer afford them.

its a longer walk but the halls are quieter.

the view is amazing but the balconies tend to stay warm back here as there is no ocean breezes.

(Unlike tef-- I HATED the L shaped cabin

Sorry, no can do. We've had one extended aft balcony. Never again!

The balcony was no wider than a regular balcony. We could not turn the deck chairs. We were so far from everything-we felt isolated. We could not even use the balcony one whole day because workers were scraping and painting the area above us.

We are sticking to our Lido deck balcony cabins.
