New to cruising and have a question about the check in process and first few hours.

i guess it is like a check in to a plan, queue up with bags, check in bags and get boarding passes?

Does that sound about right?

When you have your passes and start boarding what happens?

can you just get on board (minus your cases) and immediately go to your room, go and use the pools, get a drink?

I imagine that most of the crew are busy getting you on board so not all the ship is open but what usually is?

thanks all

You drop your bags with the porters outside the terminal. Your bags should already have luggage tags affixed. If not, ask the porters to make tags for you,

Enter the cruise terminal with your SetSail (boarding) pass and ID documents handy. Go through security. Go to a check-in counter, again having your documents and credit card handy. Receive your SeaPass (room key and onboard charging) card. Board the ship.

Staterooms are not usually ready until 1pm or so. However, bars, buffet restaurant, and the pools are available for your use.

If you see a long line of people with cases and you have your tags on, ignore the line and grab a porter to take them off you. Barcelona ends up with a line because people don’t realise it to get tags.

Do you get you the tags when you do on line check in?
