Need Recommendation on Hotel Near IAH - Houston

Our flight into George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is scheduled to arrive at 5:39 pm on a Friday evening. Our cruise leaves out of Galveston on Saturday afternoon. We were thinking rather than getting to Galveston in the dark, we would stay at a hotel with free airport shuttle and then return again the next day to catch transportation to the port. Any suggestions on hotels?

for just an overnight stay the Hampton Inn on JFK is good

Thanks, Canoe62. Do you know if there are any restaurants within walking distance of the Hampton Inn JFK?

We stayed at Spring Hill Suites and it was very nice. I believe there is a restaurant on site, but do recall a Jack in the Box across the street as well.

Sorry I do not recall nearby restaurants - however in the same block are a Holiday Inn and a Doubletree with restaurants

We're on the Freedom.

We are flying in on a Friday and are staying at the Sheraton. I think that I am just gonna get up and rent a car at the Airport on Sat morning and drive down to the port. I mean there are 4 of us, it will cost $50 to park and $225 for a car rental. We are also staying 2 days post cruise, so it is almost a break even compared to shuttle service. Also, let's us explore a little on our next 2 days after the cruise.
