When is the dolphin due for completion?

When did Auckland become a tender port. We were there on the Dawn Princess in December '15 and they parked her at Queens Wharf in the middle of the City.
Its only the Ovation of the Seas (and was going to be the Queen Mary 2, before she cancelled her stop) that tenders in Auckland.

The rest of the ships that visit Auckland can dock

The tenders are almost operating as soon as the ship drops anchor. They are specially designed to handle large numbers and have double doors to speed up entry and exit. They have been landing at the new Wynyard Quarter in Auckland , beside the Events Centre ,They have an area set aside which can handle 3 or 4 tenders landing at once .

BUT be aware there is NO SHELTER, so if it is a sunny day it will still be a long wait in the sun to get back onto the tender. Make sure you are hydrated, have sun screen and a hat.

Excellent advice. I'm from the tropics so was surprised to get sunburnt on the North Island of NZ.

HY could you tell me witch ports of call need a tender to go ashore Thanks
Your cruise brochure should indicate if ports on your cruise require a tender. Which ports are you calling at? If it is NZ, Akaroa and Bay of Islands are tender ports. Auckland can be a tender port for Ovation of the Seas. In very rare circumstances, Sydney can be a tender port.

You’d need to tell us your itinerary.

For New Zealand I think only the Bay of Islands and Akaroa are tender ports. For Australia Esperance, Airlie Beach and Cairns are Tender ports. Cairns is dependant upon the size of the ship and availability of berthing within the port

The south Pacific is full of tender ports, just like all over the world and just like there are ports where ships can dock, sometimes they tender anyway due to other ships. We would really need to have your itinerary, and dates.
