Skagway: Summit Tour and Town or Yukon Tour?

We will be in Skagway 8am to 8pm on August 24th, and are deciding between taking a train/bus tour to White Pass summit or to the Yukon.

With the Yukon tour, we will not have time to visit the Klondike Gold Rush Museum or take the National Park walking tour. We likely will have a couple of hours to walk around town after the Yukon tour though - so we will get a taste of Skagway.

I am leaning towards the Yukon Train/Bus tour and skipping the museum and NP walking tour.

I'd like to know others opinions - especially from those who visited the museum and took the NP walking tour.

Thx!

Why not book a private tour and tell them what you want to do, what you don’t, and see if they can make it happen? You have more options than just what your cruiseline offers. We are using Skagway Shore Tours and booked the Private Emerald Lake Tour and dogsledding. The cost is per vehicle, so our family of 6 is on a private tour not a bus full of people.
