Hey All

Anyone have some advice on the best price for getting from the Orlando Airport to Port Canavaral in Orlando and then back when we return to the airport?

Cause to rent a car for $350 to just sit there unused for 3 to 4 days seems useless.

If renting a car is your preference check two one way rentals for comparison. Otherwise there is always Uber or Lyft, as well as shuttle services that can be found through Google. Your cruise line would also be able to provide a shuttle transfer to and from as well.

Prices will vary by service - you'll just have to compare. But Uber typically is very cost effective. Others may be able to tell you what they paid for whatever transportation they used.

To whom I was answering by way of your response so that they would know the distance and transit time. :)

Might still confuse the OP

JimLab - just so's you know, Port Canaveral is not in the city of Orlando. Not even in the same county. As for flying into "Orlando Airport", we have to assume you mean Orlando International (MCO). Port Canaveral is actually served by four international airports - three of which are named Orlando something or other. The aforementioned MCO, Orlando Melbourne Int'l (MLB), Orlando Sandford Int'l (SFB) as well as Daytona Beach Int'l (DAB). The three "Orlando" airports are all within 65 miles of Port Canaveral and yes, while two of those "Orlando" airports aren't technically in the city of Orlando, neither is the port.

Just sayin.......

I do see the "in Orlando" part now. But hopefully the mileage and transit time information will help clear up the fact that it is not in Orlando.

But to further clarify, Port Canaveral is adjacent to the town of Cape Canaveral on the eastern seaboard on the Atlantic Ocean due east of the city of Orlando and Orlando International Airport (MCO). As mentioned, MCO is the primary airport that serves the area including those cruising out of Port Canaveral. Again, Orlando and MCO are 42 miles and less than 1 hour away.

But based on the OP's second post, he likely already realizes this....:)

"Orlando Melbourne International Airport" (MLB) is 70 miles from downtown Orlando but only 27 miles from Port Canaveral.

Hello All

Yes I was aware of the distance but since half our trip is a cruise and the other half is Disney we coming into Orlando by plane.

This is what I would do. Fly into MCO take an UBER OR Lift to the port, have a great cruise, take another UBER or Lift to the place where you are getting a rental car enjoy Disney. WARNING: it might take a while to be picked up at MCO mainly because UBER or Lift cars can not wait on Airport property. Something about contracts.

By the way what Cruiseline? Because if it is Disney they have their own transportation for the Cruises.

Either way Enjoy your Cruise/ Disney trip.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got back from Carnival Liberty and flew in and out of MCO (Orlando).

We Ubered TO Port Canaveral (Raddison) on a Saturday evening for $56 from Orlando.

On the day we returned to port our Uber cost $81 on a Thursday morning back TO Orlando. So if you average the two out was about $68. Air conditioned, courteous driver, comfortable vehicle and no hassles at all. We waited 8 minutes and 9 minutes for both Ubers.

Hope this helps.
