A question about airbrush tanning

I searched on this site and couldn't really find what I was looking for, but, I was wondering if anyone has tried airbrush tanning. I have an appointment this Friday, (we leave Sunday), and I was just curious about the results. I have medium skin tone. Thanks.

Really, to get the best results, you need to get more than one application done. When my DD was working in a salon/spa, she gave me one and personally I just as soon use the gradual self tanners and they seem to last longer.

I airbrushed for the first time in January New Years weekend, right before a trip to Baltimore for an engagement party. I hated it ( I have a medium skin tone also).

I should have listened to my intuition when the airbursh "specialist" walked in and to my horror if Barney Fife and Ozzy Osbourne ever mated and had a daughter she would be it. But I didnt want to judge a book by its cover and the staff did say she was the best and went ahead with the airbursh session.

After I was done,I wound up looking like i was dipped in a chocolate vat and hung to dry. And when she said the color will darken as it sets in and dry I was mortified. As soon as I got home I exfoliated and showered and removed as much of the stain as I could right away and vowed to never airbrush again. Plus, as the week progressed it faded and like cb at sea mentioned it happens in blotches.

I could not wear the dress I planned and instead went with a long sleeve mini dress with my above the knee Stu Weitzman boots to conceal whatever I could not wash away.

By the way, ....dont wear white since it will definitely stain your clothing.

I have read other positive experiences, but I can honestly say it did not work for me.

Just reiterate that you want a glow.

Good Luck. Enjoy your cruise

If you get it you should pick up a bottle of self tanner for touch ups to keep the color from fading (they sell sprays, creams, and even wipes that are like big wet-naps). I use them ALL THE TIME without any problems. You can pick them up at the drugstore and even the supermarket near the sunscreens for $9-13. Neutrogena and Loreal both make great ones. Even the CVS brand spray is actually pretty good. I just tried a new Hawaian Tropic cream lotion this week and LOVE it. These are good b/c you can choose your shade and the more you use it it builds. They're all very easy to use now and don't cause the orange tint or streaking they did back in the day. Loreal's are the easiest to use for a first time but they also rub off the fastest and most uneaven.

Honestly, for the price, you're probably better off skipping the salon b/c the at home ones work just as nicely and you can control it better. Just use it every day up to your cruise. If you do 2-3 applications you should be nice and tan :)
