Reservations Now Required for Visiting Muir Woods [Just north of San Francisco]

Recommended Posts

For those who are thinking of renting a car and visiting the redwoods in Muir Woods (just north of the Golden Gate Bridge), be advised that a new reservation system has been implemented and that reservations are required.

Information can be found here, on the National Park Service's Website.

There is also no cellphone, mobile data, or wifi in the area. If you take a taxi, Uber or Lyft there you will not be able to hail a ride back without prior arrangements.

Parking along the side of road outside of the park entrance will get you a pricey ticket too.

Oh wow .... we were there a few years ago & finding parking was incredibly difficult. We parked a LONG ways out along the side of the road. Hopefully, this helps congestion.

Yes.... That is the reason that the National Park Service put the system in place.
