Ganges River

I'm booked on a Ganges River Cruise in late September from Varanasi to Farakka on the R/V Rajmahal through Noble Caledonia.

Has anyone taken this cruise? Any hints or tips?

I sailed on the sister ship to this from Farakka to Calcutta and have been in India three previous times, so am well aware of what to expect from the country.

I have not taken that cruise, but have visited Varanasi and have been on short boat rides on the Ganges out of Varanasi twice. It is such a heavily spiritual place, filled with all types of wondrous sounds, sights and scents. It is a place that I will carry with me forever, and am so happy to have seen. How fortunate for you.

I have booked the September 2015 Ganges Vantage trip and would like to hear from anyone that will returning in January and February.

This is on my list with NC too, not booked yet though! I am eager to learn anything from anyone who has done this sort of itinerary with Noble Cal. I hope you have a fantastic time, and would love to read a trip report :)

It seems like a good deal: around $10K for 2 people, for a 18/19 night (mostly all-inclusive) Cruise/trip.

We were very happy with our Pandaw cruise on the Irrawaddy.
